Holiday Hot-List

Now the weather is getting that little bit nicer its making me have major holiday shopping trip cravings!

I've probably not mentioned it previously, but I'm heading to the IOW in June and Tenerife in September, I haven't been anywhere remotely hot since 2011 so I massively need to update my holiday wardrobe.

I am of course hoping a stunningly hot-bod is going to appear under my clothes in time, so I can buy everything in a size down, meaning I'm putting off buying anything at the minute.
This is not helping with my shopping urges!!!!

So, I've done what I always do; window shopped.
These are my 'Top Five' holiday pieces; and they'll be my first five purchases when I'm a size ten (if ever!).

If you can't tell, I'm crushing on bright colours and patterns this season! Holidays are a perfect time to try out vibrant looks like the Topshop runner shorts; I have to have them!!

What looks are you loving for your summer hols?! Anyone going anywhere exciting?
I'd love to hear from you!

Rocky Horror Show; 40th Anniversary Tour

Earlier this week I was lucky enough to attend the Lyceum Theatre in Sheffield for a showing of Richard O’Brien’s ‘Rocky Horror Show’. This 40th Anniversary Party Edition is currently touring the country and had stopped off in Sheffield.

The story follows Brad and, damn it, Janet, become wrapped up in the world of scandalous Frank 'n' Furter, played by Oliver Thornton, who I have to say has fantastic legs, following their car breaking down.

I don't want to give too much away to those who are yet to see it, but I'll just say that its pretty naughty and unpredictable; if you're opposed to men in drag, audience participation and the unrealistic, its probably not your thing!

So, what did I think? Well, I am a huge, huge, HUGE, fan of the film; I know all the words to the songs and the dances, and so the theatre production didn't disappoint in the slightest.

From start to finish it was catchy, naughty and funny; cut down into a mere 1 hour and 50 minutes, the show was a sexy chunk of fun.

Oliver Thornton gave an outstanding performance as Dr. Frank 'n' Furter; completely believable as a 'Sweet Transvestite' and he responded to the audience like a pro! They say comedy is all in the timing, and he has it spot on.

Every actor made their character their own; Ceris Hine's 'Columbia' was particularly brilliant; especially during the (for want of a better word) 'knock out' scene.

And I simply have to mention Philip Franks' portrayal of the 'Narrator', they couldn't have cast this role better!

I couldn't have asked for more in a theatre show; everyone in the audience was up on their feet dancing and signing, with a few even swing dancing in the aisles!

A huge 10 out of 10 from me; if you can get to see it I highly recommend, even if you are a virgin.

Tour listings can be found here, so you've no excuse not to go!

My only regret? I didn't dress up, next time I'll be in full lingerie and high heels!

Happy Mothers Day

Dear Mummy,

I couldn't afford to get you a Mothers Day gift this year, but that doesn't mean I don't love you! I'm just a poor student; so my gift to you mummy is a massively public declaration of love.

Love you mummy

People say that when you get old, you turn into your parents, well if I end up anything like you I'll be happy.

Mamma, you're the hardest working person I know, you'll go without air if it meant one of us kids could have it and I know you're always there for me when I really need you.

You're pretty much always right, especially when it came to having my hair cut short, and I really do miss you when I'm away, but I'll be back soon, and we'll probably be back to getting on each others nerves!

We really need an up to date photo of us all together!
So, happy Mothers Day.

Love you lots and lots

Check Your Puppies!

This month Cosmopolitan Magazine and charity 'CoppaFeel' have launched an adorable campaign aimed at getting you, yes YOU, to 'check your puppies'!

Ps. We're not talking boobies not actual puppies!
541 woman aged 18 - 35 were diagnosed with Breast Cancer last year, yet women in this age group are said to be much more likely to get an eye check than check their boobs.

The message?
We really need to get to know our boobs; as CoppaFeel states "knowing your boobs could save your life."

The cute little puppies will be posted a the beginning of every month on CoppaFeel's free app and on Cosmopolitan's Facebook, Twitter and website to remind us all to check our breasts for the signs of breast cancer.

CoppaFeel founder, and breast cancer survivor, Kristin Hellenga explained
"The idea is these guys are puppies, and you guys have puppies ... A different kind of puppies - boobies - so what better way to be reminded to check your boobs than with these cute guys?"

Louise Court, Cosmopolitan Editor added,
"With over a third of women admitting they never check their breasts, its essential that boob checking remains at the top if women's agendas. Early detection saves lives, so we're urging women to help us spread the 'Check Your Puppies' message..."

If this has got you thinking you need to check your boobs, but you don't know where to start, visit CoppaFeel here and have all your questions magically answered!

Once you've checked, make sure you familiarise yourself with the signs and symptoms of breast cancer, which can be found here, along with a fantastic instructional video showing you how to carry out a breast check. After all, there's no use checking if you don't know what you're checking for!

Even if it is just once a month we all need to take responsibility for our health and start checking our puppies! We owe it to those super cooote little guys trying to fit in those fabulous bras. (And ourselves, obviously!)

So what're you waiting for? ..... Oh okay, just one more picture!

 Now go check those puppies!!!
